Artist Depicts Disney Princesses on the Met Gala Red Carpet

Thought you’d have to move on from the Met Gala once the evening was over? Think again. One artist has found a totally creative way to keep the epic red carpet looks alive — and it involves some of your favorite Disney princesses. Photographer and illustrator, Gregory Masouras, has used his Photoshop skills to re-imagine what some of the most well-known princesses (and villains!) would have looked like had they been invited to walk the iconic set of stairs at the Metropolitan Museum last Monday night. And the results are incredible.
Gregory’s take on the Met Gala is just the newest addition to his ongoing series #AnimationInReality, started in 2014. On his website he explains that it “is intended to ‘integrate fantasy into reality.’” What’s more, he adds, “Ultimately, my purpose would be the liberation of adult imagination by using tools that were, up to now, reserved for younger audiences.” And, as avid Disney fans ourselves, this mentality is certainly one that we can get behind.
Prior installments of his project have included everything from Elsa as Gigi Hadid on the cover of Vogue to Cinderella as Lady Gaga on the runway of the annual Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. Though we hate to pick favorites from this creative collection, we must admit: The Met Gala may just take the cake.
From the fashion-filled evening, Gregory has pulled out all the stops with his cartoon-infused realities. Hailey Baldwin’s Carolina Herrera look plays host to Anna, Pocahontas takes on Rihanna’s jaw-dropping Comme des Garçons creation, and Kendall Jenner’s barely-there La Perla gown is embodied by the one and only Mulan.
